THE FOUR STEP PURIFICATION SYSTEM

1. Pre-filter
This filter removes larger dust particles from the air which could otherwise prematurely clog the filter system. You'll notice the difference to cleaning when these particles are removed from your environment. There are four of these filters in the unit and these can be washed and re-used.

2. Electrostatic collection filter
This high performance electrostatic filter (3M) is tested to eliminate more than 95% of particulate pollution from the air, down to a tiny 0.3 of a micron (the human hair is 70 - 100 microns). This typ of filter is very efficient, and a safe static charge is produced by forcing air across the filter. This static charge attracts and traps airborne particles into the filter just like a magnet. Asthma, allergy and respiratory symptoms are often reduced when exposure to dust, pollen, mites and mould spores is controlled with an electrostatic air filter. There are two of these filters on the top of the unit which can be washed and re-used.

3. Micro dust filter
There are four of these filters, two on the top and one each on the left and right of the unit. The effectiveness is measured by a pressure sensor which will alert you when these require changing. This may be approximately every 12 months but of course depends upon the amount of use.

4. Deodorization filter
This patented technology eliminates odour and harmful gases by using activated carbon. This filter can be washed and re-used.

5. Sterilisation filter (Optional)
This element eliminates bacteria which remain in the air. This filter can be washed and re-used.

Zalmandn Air Purifiers

Zalmandn Air Purifiers, manufactured by Nano Biothys, attained the highest Clean Air Delivery Rate (or CADR) from AHAM which is the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers.

This standardized measurement system determines how well an air cleaner reduces pollutants such as tobacco smoke, dust and pollen. The higher the numbers, the faster the unit filters the pollutants out of the air.

HEPA vs 3M Filter

HEPA air purifiers use pleated High Efficiency Particle Arresting (HEPA) filters to trap allergens, along with a fan to pull air through the filter. The key advantage of the HEPA filter is the high efficiency in collecting dust and particles in the air. Consequently many air purifiers are promoted as having a HEPA filter, but the use of HEPA filters does not guarantee efficiency. With the introduction of the 3M filter technology in the Zalmandn range, the effeciency of the 3M filter is absolutely competitive with the high quality end of the HEPA filter products – check the CADR to confirm.

Why purchase an Air Purifier?

While air pollution is thought to be a problem related to outdoor air, the same pollutants can be found indoors. We spend up to 60% of our time indoors and our homes are not always the safe places we would like them to be. Modern buildings are designed to be energy efficient so as to maintain temperature, but as a consequence they do not breathe. This allows air pollutants to accumulate inside the building, as they cannot escape.
